El Rincon Mexican: Reviews & Ratings
This is a fun little (and I mean little) spot to grab some no frills Mexican faire. Located on a rather challenging 'triangle' corner which makes it one of those places you SEE it and then realize you are passing it. Parking is super limited, so expect to park on the street and walk a few feet, and maybe have to cross some heavy traffic. Come on, it'll be worth it. The building is an old (again, super tiny) gas station which is why it is situated where it is. There are a several metal tables outside, and even two bar height seating areas along each side of the building. Plus a few small tables inside. Order at the counter, take your number, grab some chips and salsa at the salsa bar (inside), and then go find yourself a table. They will bring your food to you. We came in for the 'Taco Tuesday' special for lunch which truly can't be beat. $1.99 for either seasoned shredded chicken or carnitas. We ordered 3 of each. Tacos were double layered corn street taco tortilla size, with onion and cilantro, some limes to squeeze on them if you like, and a couple radishes finished off the plate. We used some of the salsa on ours...We agreed that both seasoned chicken and the carnitas meats were excellent. The salsas (both green and red) were very good, and not overly spicy. Personally, as lovers of spicy foods, we would have liked them to be more intense. Overall, this is a fantastic place to grab some really good Mexican food for a super affordable price, at a kitschy fun spot.
My favorite taco spot around Sac, easy access off 99 and plenty of free street parking if the lot is full. Always quick, tasty and they have beer as well. My favorite chicken taco around and I love the salsa bar, especially the mango habanero. Always nice to sit outside when the suns out.
I love this place so much I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet! I always get the grilled chicken street tacos and they’re always amazing. Prices are excellent, (especially on taco Tuesday) and the portions are generous! Staff is always sweet and pleasant. It’s just a pleasure to dine in here. It’s kind of small, but there’s some patio seating.
Converted funky old metal sided filling station circa 1930’s or so it seems. Situated diagonally on a corner of T st. where it makes a dog leg turn at Alhambra Blvd. If you see on-street parking grab it since parking spaces on-site are limited. Inside you find four tables and the order counter along with self service salsa bar and soda machine. Next time if the weather permits I’ll bring my dog since there’s plenty of outdoor seating, two counters and several tables. My burrito was promptly prepared and was huge and tasty. The restroom is in a separate building out the back like an old gas station. If you need to use it then ask for the key at the corner where you placed your food order.
Perfect little spot to grab some tacos on this beautiful breezy 70degree weather. Service was quick with a counter order. Small inside seating with decent outdoor seating. The $1.99 taco Tuesday carnitas street tacos were perfectly seasoned. Wish the asada street tacos were also $1.99 as well, but if you’re a fan of chicken and pork. $1.99 Tuesday sure does make a hell of a deal. Top it off with a modelo and you got some good food.
Food was made fresh to order. Delicious, I might add! The lady who took my order was nice. When I ordered 3 plates the lady only heard 2 and when I went to ask for the third one she was very apologetic and fixed my order. The prices were reasonable. Inside was small with four tables, I recommend placing a To-go order because parking is difficult as well.
OMG what can I say FINALLY an amazing hole in the wall restaurant that me and my family LOVED food was amazing seasoned and great portion size for the price. - Carnitas plate: the beans have a near to perfection seasoning. Rice is authentic and star of the plate Carnitas are juicy and well cooked. - Torta: I got the torta with milanesa meat and I love love love this sandwich the bread they use compliments the sandwich well all toppings well proportioned This will be a definite come back to place here in SACRAMENTO
The food was yummy and the margarita is delicious as well. Kind of a small space but they make it work.
